WOW Card - Using WorldWin Papers for Texture

Hi, it's Gini and I've got a WOW card to share with you today - which simply means a White on White card.  I think the trick to creating an all white card is to use lots of textures - so I pulled out all kinds of WorldWin Papers to give this card lots of visual interest.

I can never decide the best way to photograph these all white cards, so I've given you a couple of different shots.
 Let's talk about the layers.  The base is a 5 x 7 Colormates Smooth Cardstock in Heritage White.  The next layer is Pearlescent Paper in the Swirl pattern.  It was edged with a bead of Fairy Dust Glitter. The next layer was diecut from Petallics Cardstock in Beargrass using Spellbinder's Nobel Rectangle. The center rectangle  was cut using the same die, this time using the Kromekote papers, and embossed using the Spellbinder's M-Bossabilities folder - Butterfly Kisses.  I am completely in love with how spectacular the Kromekote paper embosses. The next layer was die cut using JustRite/Spellbinders Vintage Labels Six dies - using the Swirl Pearlescent paper again.  I added a little bit of the Fairy Dust Glitter to the stenciling areas of the die.  I used the same die set to cut the small oval using Translucent Vellum, that I heat embossed with white powder using JustRite's Fleuriste Newsprint Background Stamp.  The banner was cut from the Kromekote paper using Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  The sentiment is from JustRite's Seeds of Summer Clear Stamp set.  It was stamped and heat embossed to seal the ink. The flowers were made using Translucent Vellum and cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations.  Of course, I added glitter to the petals.  The leaves were cut from Spellbinders Foliage using the Swirl paper. Whew! That is a lot of layering, but the results are worth it!

Christmas in July

Hello everyone! Gloria here today! I have two WorldWin Papers projects to share today. I created two Christmas cards for the WorldWin Summer CHA booth. CHA is going on this week in Las Vegas, so if you are unable to go to the show, you can get a sneaky peek of my cards today! {I am NOT at the show either, so don't feel too bad!}

I embossed the ColorMates Original Medium Berry Red cardstock with the Couture Creations Exotic embossing folder. I lightly rubbed the embossed areas with white chalk ink to make the embossing pop. As you can tell by the name, this folder is not really a Christmas-themed folder. However, the pattern seemed very "festive" to me, so I used it!

I embossed the ColorMates Heritage White cardstock with a second embossing folder (Cuttlebug Christmas Countdown). I used Pearlescent Swirl cardstock to create the snowflake, using Spellbinders Create-a-Flake Three dies.  I added just a bit of patterned paper to create a gift card holder on the front of the card.

This next card was fun to make as I used a technique that is new to me....a die cut overlay.

I embossed Petallics Beargrass cardstock with an embossing folder (Cuttlebug Ornaments) and trimmed it to size. Petallics papers are shimmery and heavy weight, so they "take" the embossing very well. I cut the hexagon pattern (Papertrey Ink) from ColorMates Originals Deep Berry Red cardstock.

I stamped the Christmas ornament image onto ColorMates Heritage White cardstock and cut it out with the Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament die.

And there you have it! Christmas in July! Thanks for looking!

I hope you have a chance to check out all that WorldWin Papers has to offer!

Need a Little Sunshine?

Katrina here with a little sunshine for you!  We have had some crazy weather and a bright cheery card is just what I needed to make to perk me up!

I used the Petallics collection again and I just cannot get enough of the beauty of it.  Such a soft shimmer and feel.

On the sentiment, I did use the Pearlescent Paper in Swirl.  It is also the paper that is behind my clouds. As soon as I saw it's texture, I knew I wanted to use clouds on my project!  And I used an American Crafts/Dear Lizzy roller stamp to stamp my sentiment.  The Pearlescent Paper took it perfect and roller stamps can be a little tricky to get them to stamp correctly!

I used the Petallics Paper in Spring Larch for my base and then for my die cut layout I used Autumn Hay.

The Petallics and also the Pearlescents are wonderful to make simple elegant cards for any occasion.  Or in my case, no occassion at all!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
