Birthday Wishes

Hi! It's Gini, and I just wanted to let the WorldWin Papers fans know that we will have some exciting changes coming after the first of the year!  We haven't forgotten about this blog, but have busy behind the scenes getting ready to inspire you!

I've got a card to share with you today that I made for my husband's birthday.  WorldWin Papers has so many gorgeous specialty papers, but sometimes people are a little intimidated to use them.  Don't be! Just jump right in.

The majority of my card uses the Elan Metallics Specialty papers.  I used the Plum, Moss and Bronze on this card.  Notice how gorgeous these papers look when cut using Spellbinder's dies or embossed! I also stamped and heat embossed this paper - and the results were great! To finish off the card, I  added a layer of the Gold Foil between the base and front to add a little bit more glitz!

WorldWin Elan Meatallics Specialty Papers: Plum, Moss, Bronze
WorldWin High Gloss Cardstock: Gold Foil
WorlldWin ColorMates: Maroon

Wedding Luminary

Hi! It's Gini ~ I know we have been kind of quiet around here, but we are working behind the scenes to have new ways to inspire you, using Worldwin Papers.  Today, I have a wedding luminary that I made using two types of specialty papers that Worldwin has. All of the designs were cut using dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The  Worldwin Papers Twist -Silver - (which is a heavy woven textured cardstock with a shattered/Tyvek appearance) , is what I used to make the cuts on my luminary, and Worldwin's 48 LB Translucent Vellum for the lining and the flowers This vellum is a thicker vellum, that really holds up for this type of application. After I cut each of the four silver panels for my box, I cut the vellum backing, but made the sides 1/4" larger, so I could score them, and put them together using Scor-Tape.

The tag was stamped using JustRite Stamps Nested Wedding Sentiments and the Victorian Frames.

Here's how it looks lit with a candle -

...and finally, the back of the luminary.

How About Some Twist?!?!?!

Well, I don't know about everybody else, but around here the weather is warming up beautifully. The warm sunshine just makes things seem better in my opinion. Now if we could just do something about the pollen!!! I thought this would be a good time to share some projects with Twist. This paper is so vibrant and colorful and just screams Spring and Summer to me.

Here is a page using Twist by the talented Gini Williams Cagle. She used gorgeous colors and some diecutting for this interesting page!

Here is the entire project

Here's one by Patti Hamil. She used the ECraft cutter for the floral border strip! And handcut the blooms to match the photo.

These papers are just so much fun to work with. Please share your projects using Twist with us. You can email them to phamil@live.com

Over the Moon

Hi! It's Gini here to share with you a layout I made of my adorable nephew (who happens to be the usual subject of my pages!)

I have to tell you, before WorldWin Papers, I had a love/hate relationship with my Cricut. I loved all of the intricate designs, but had a terrible time cutting them. Once I started using the CutMates line from WorldWin, my troubles were over. Everything on this page was cut using the Cricut - and it cut it perfectly, first try. No more wasted paper ending up in the trashcan.

A Cake Story layout

Hi all, Grace here to share with you one of the layouts I made for CHA Winter....

A Cake Story
I love this page cause I was able to feature a lot of WorldWin Papers- Vellum, CutMates and Paper Layerz.

I had cut the flowers from my die cut machine (Cricut) and layered them. The Vellum adds soft touches to the layers.

I adhered them with foam adhesive so they'll have more dimension. I also curled the edges.

A quick title done by using printed journaling and vellum.

So there you have it. I hope you found some inspiration with my page today. Have a great day. Make sure you check out these products and all the other papers that WorldWin offers here.

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog! We are just getting this started, so please bear with us. We plan on showcasing the awesome WorldWin Papers products, showing how to use them, examples and tutorials on different projects from the Design Team. We will also be showcasing projects from our customers as well! We hope you enjoy!

We're going to be doing some giveaways to launch the new blog soon, so we need you to tell all your friends. Check back on the blog later this week to see details!!!

With our first post we wanted to share a few DT projects using the WorldWin vellum. It's really versatile, and the thickness is perfect for any project, it doesn't curl and goes through most printers easily.

This first project, by Gini, shows how to add journaling by printing directly onto vellum. Here, she printed her wedding vows on the vellum, tore the edges and then inked them with Distress Ink. Notice the die cut border, underneath the journaling box, using the vellum, which creates a subtle pattern. She also added layers of vellum to her die-cut flowers to add a new texture.

This next project shows a technique using alcohol inks. Patti Hamil used several colors of Ranger alcohol ink and just dripped it onto the vellum, then used a heat gun to dry and spread it as well! Then just cut it into squares and use for your photo mat!

Here is a close-up.

Next we have a project done by Grace Tolman...
In this page, I wanted to show some great Vellum technique. I was inspired to make my scallop border on the bottom of my page with the sheer dance skirt my daughter in the photos. I spray misted the whole sheet of vellum, punched out one side of strips with scallop punch and then adhered them on top of each other. I also used the Vellum with my butterflies (also sprayed with yellow mist) and a strip to hold my title.

Here is a project by Heather Carpenter...

Here I have used Vellum to mat my photos and to use as an accent on my title letters. The Vellum cuts effortlessly when using punches or even an electronic diecut machine. I found out the heavier vellum worked better when using the electronic cutters.

Here is a closeup of the title. The vellum is used to outline the letters.

Don't forget to check back later this week for details of the giveaway. And if you have a WorldWin project that you would like to share, send it to phamil@live.com and we may feature it on our blog!
