Fall is Here with WorldWin Papers!

Katrina on the blog today to share a layout using almost nothing but various card stocks from the WorldWin Paper lines. The rich colors were just dying for me to make a fall layout with them. This project was also in the WorldWin Papers booth at this past Summer CHA trade show.

The papers cut beautifully either with a die cutting machine or with your punches. This scalloped border is punched, not die cut.

I love the rich chocolate color of the brown against all of the other colors. It just makes everything pop!

Happy Fall Y'all

For some of you it may seem that fall is almost over. I would venture a guess that some of you have already had your first snowfall. However, I live in southern California, just north of San Diego, where fall looks a lot like...summer...with cooler nights.

I love fall colors and decorate my house with items that say "FALL"! I also love to make fall-themed cards and projects. For this card I used Kraft cardstock and the Endless folder from the Couture Creations All Occasions set to create "leaf fossils"!

First, I rubbed the embossing folder with ink, on the side of the folder WITHOUT the Couture Creations logo. Then, I embossed the kraft cardstock. Since I am using the "debossed" side of the cardstock, the ink that was pressed into the paper makes the leaves look like "fossils." The raised parts of the design are not inked.

I used the Couture Creations Nested Victorian Rectangle to cut out my sentiment. I stamped

the sentiment on Light Totally Tan cardstock using several ink colors. I just tapped the stamp

into different colors if ink and stamped. Easy! I used the same technique for the fall leaves. I

stamped the leaves, and then fussy cut them from the Light Totally Tan cardstock.

The pretty Deep Terra-Cotta cardstock is perfect for my card base. I goes well with the ink

colors I chose. This is a very simple card, with a big impact!

Here is the same embossing folder, with a different technique.

I created a faux patina effect for this card. It is a fun way to get more use out of your folders!

I created a card from Deep Terra Cotta cardstock and a mat from Deep Spring Green.

I used a brayer to add ink to the embossing folder. I used a selection of fall colors of dye ink.

Make sure you add ink to the inside of the folder, this time ink the section containing the

black Couture Creations logo. We are using the "embossed" side of the paper. Once again,

the background will receive the ink.

Place Light Totally Tan cardstock into the folder and emboss. (Wash your folder to prevent

staining.) Use a heat tool to make sure the ink on the cardstock is totally dry.

Create a "patina" by using a foam or sponge ink applicator to ink over the raised areas of the

embossed paper with green, blue, and dark brown ink, in that order. Allow to dry. You may

use a heat tool to dry the ink if you wish.

Ink some of the raised areas with Watermark or clear embossing ink. You only want to heat

emboss a few areas to create a "rusted" look on your card. Emboss with metallic embossing

powder. I created my own "rust" powder by combining several powders together in a small

jar.

Trim the paper to size and use it to create a card.

I used Light Totally Tan for the sentiment and for the inside of the card. The scallop mat is

made from Deep Spring Green.

WOW Card - Using WorldWin Papers for Texture

Hi, it's Gini and I've got a WOW card to share with you today - which simply means a White on White card. I think the trick to creating an all white card is to use lots of textures - so I pulled out all kinds of WorldWin Papers to give this card lots of visual interest.

I can never decide the best way to photograph these all white cards, so I've given you a couple of different shots.

Let's talk about the layers. The base is a 5 x 7 Colormates Smooth Cardstock in Heritage White. The next layer is Pearlescent Paper in the Swirl pattern. It was edged with a bead of Fairy Dust Glitter. The next layer was diecut from Petallics Cardstock in Beargrass using Spellbinder's Nobel Rectangle. The center rectangle was cut using the same die, this time using the Kromekote papers, and embossed using the Spellbinder's M-Bossabilities folder - Butterfly Kisses. I am completely in love with how spectacular the Kromekote paper embosses. The next layer was die cut using JustRite/Spellbinders Vintage Labels Six dies - using the Swirl Pearlescent paper again. I added a little bit of the Fairy Dust Glitter to the stenciling areas of the die. I used the same die set to cut the small oval using Translucent Vellum, that I heat embossed with white powder using JustRite's Fleuriste Newsprint Background Stamp. The banner was cut from the Kromekote paper using Spellbinders Ribbon Banners. The sentiment is from JustRite's Seeds of Summer Clear Stamp set. It was stamped and heat embossed to seal the ink. The flowers were made using Translucent Vellum and cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations. Of course, I added glitter to the petals. The leaves were cut from Spellbinders Foliage using the Swirl paper. Whew! That is a lot of layering, but the results are worth it!

Hello! It is Gloria with you today! I wanted to share a card that shows how well the WorldWin Papers ColorMates cardstock heat embosses AND dry embosses!

I made a standard sized card with Treasures Pitch Black cardstock. I then stamped the image with white ink onto ColorMates Original Light Coffee Brown cardstock. Using white embossing powder, I heat embossed the image.

Once the embossing was cool to the touch, I dry embossed the image with a matching embossing folder. (You can see I had a bit of trouble lining it up, but that just adds to the "charm"!) I fussy cut the bottom edge of the pattern, so I could add a bit of printed paper to the bottom of the card.

I stamped the medallion image into the center of the card and heat embossed it. I then die cut some of the matching shapes out of designer paper and cardstock to add to the stamped shape. I die cut the star shape from a scrap of the Light Coffe Brown cardstock, and then covered it with white ink and white embossing powder. Topped with a black gem, it makes a great embellishment for the center of the card.

A Witch Hat and Pumpkin For Your Table

Looking for centerpiece ideas for that last minute Halloween party?! Well, if you have some WorldWin Papers card stock and a few minutes you can create something adorable for that table!

The hat was created with the Original Colormates in Deep Lovely Lilac, Deep Dream Orange and Heritage Black. I used a cut file from the Silhouette store to make it. I added the ribbon, because it looked adorable on there!

The pumpkin was made with the Original Colormates in Deep Dream Orange and the leaves with the Petallics in GreenEyes I did use a full 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock for it. I made it from a cut file, but you could easily do this without one.

Just score an entire sheet of 12 x 12 paper every 1/4 inch.
Cut 5 strips out in various widths, keeping two of them fairly the same size (bigger) and then two of them fairly the same size (smaller) and then a smaller one for the top.
Once cut, accordion fold the strips and use strong adhesive to hold the ends together of each strip. When dried then shape each of the strips into a circle and glue to a piece of scrap cardstock to hold the shape.
Stack on top of each other making the pumpkin. You may have to fiddle with it to get it the way you want it.
Cut out or punch leaves and arrange on top. Add a stem, I used a twig. Tie with twine.

Birthday Blessings

Hi, it's Gini and I'm back to share a card that I created combining some of my favorite WorldWin papers.

I used WorldWin Papers Matte Gold Kromekote paper cobined with the shades of purple to create a regal feel for this card. I stamped and embossed the smaller image from Violette Vintage Labels twice - and colored them with gelatos. I butted them up next to each other to form a larger shape, and layered that with JustRite's/Spellbinders Antique Labels One die. I stamped the sentiment from Vintage Filagree Fancies, and embossed it with gold powder.

I love how this card turned out! It really has so much depth and texture and was so fun to create!
